2021 September

September 2021 was most likely the biggest month of my entire career!

In July while I was in Orlando for the Miss Americas Outstanding Teen competition, I received a message from my dear friend and amazing hairstylist Ashley Jones. She told me that she had booked us for a wedding… in WALT DISNEY WORLD. It has been a dream of mine to do a wedding in Disney. I even planned and priced out to have my own wedding in Disney, it was easier to have it at home. The wedding would be for a Disney maker and influencer Brooke, or BBBROOKE and her husband Tommy’s 10th wedding anniversary. Hurricane Ida hit New Orleans just days before Brookes wedding. The airport had canceled our flights, so we loaded up my car and drove the 10 hours to Disney. Ashley and I made sure to schedule a park day to be able to enjoy ourselves. We had our very own Fairy Glam Mothers shirts made and had a fun day.

The day of the wedding we started at 6am to include hair and makeup for 12 people plus their mid day lunch break which was great for us! Brooke was absolutely an angle and just wanted to look like herself but better!

When you book a Disney Fairytale Wedding there is an option for a sunrise in park photoshoot. YOU NEED TO DO IT! It’s you alone in the park. And it is not offered to anyone else. We started Brooke’s hair and makeup at 2am for this shoot. But oh my goodness it was so worth it! I just wish I had more pictures!

Brooke I cannot thank you enough for trusting 2 random hair and makeup artists that messaged you on Instagram. You’re special day will be a core memory for both of us.

Two weeks after my first destination travel wedding in Florida I had my second in Colorado.

I have never been to Colorado but I screamed and jumped at the shot to go!!

I first met Stacy and Kyle almost 10 years ago. I started working as a hostess at Lüke, a restaurant in New Orleans. Stacy was the hostess turned server training me. Kyle was a server everyone had a crush on. I watched them fall in love. It was magical. Their wedding was nothing less magical then their love story. Breckinridge Colorado at the end of September is breathtaking. The small ceremony was held at the mountain house of a coworker. I made Stacy’s hair pieces. Stacy’s dress was made by the best women. The best women’s mother officiated the wedding. The brides cousin played the violin for the ceremony.

I don’t think I’ve cried more at any other wedding.

When I was finishing the hair styling I met the photographer Larissa. You know when you meet someone and you instantly want to be their friend? That was me and Larissa. We shared snacks out of our bags. She gave me a ride back to my hotel and didn’t even complain when I left glitter and sequins in her car. This set the ground work for a future post. (that I promise to write soon!)

I am still in awe that I was able to have 2 weddings that I traveled for in the same month.
