Let me start by saying I do NOT regularly use, buy, or sell Rodan + Fields. Please do not message me about joining your team. [Seriously its taken me months to write this post, imagine how bad at sales I’d be LOL]
I am writing this to review 1 product and my experience.
This September I had the privilege of working at the R+F convention doing hair and makeup backstage for the executives. It was such an amazing and educational experience for me. I got to learn about the company from the people who create the products and run the company. Before the convention all I knew about R+F was that it was skincare products and sold by Facebook friends. After spending almost a week with the family that is the creators all the way down to the beginner members, I could see why people like the products so much and “drink the R+F kool-aid.”
The highlight of my time at the convention was being present for the launch of R+F’s newest product Radiant Defense Perfecting Liquid. As a thank you, I was gifted the product line. After months of use, here is my review!
Radiant Defense is considered Dermacosmetic; which to me is a fancy tinted moisturizer. It has Broad Spectrum SPF 30 and oil free. It comes in 6 shades: Shell, Beige, Sand, Golden, Almond, and Espresso. I am a Shell.
Application of this product is very simple! Use after your skincare regimen. You need only a use a small amount, a little bit goes a long way (which is good because this is kind of pricey). It is paired with a Radiant Defense Liquid Brush. I personally love the brush because of how soft it is, but I wouldn’t consider it necessary.
Upon my first experience using it on the executive I was working with, it was VERY shiny. She obviously had excellent and healthy shiny skin. To combat the shininess, I used translucent setting powder.
However using it on myself it gives my skin a nice glow. I have pretty good normal skin, I honestly don’t take the best care of it and don’t often get breakouts. I like like the lightweight semisheer coverage. On myself, Radiant Defense is able to show my freckles and cover any blemishes. It kind of has a blurring and dewy effect. Which I love!
For these photos I chose to only fill in my brows, wear mascara, and a tinted lip balm. I also did not edit or filter these photos because I want show how natural this product is.
Overall I am very happy with this “dermacosmetic”. It has become my weekday foundation. I am even adding it to my makeup kit. For when I have clients who don’t wear makeup but want a small amount of coverage.
